""So I ventured into Cafe Niebaumm, in Coppola's
building in North Beach to see their Live Story event,
which is the reading of a short story by two actors to
a room full of inebriated culturals.  They offered
free gin drinks, so I broke my vow not to have hard
liquor and had their Orange Banger which was very
good; gin, orange liqueur, orange juice and soda
water. 
The short story was horrible and precious.  Thank god
I had a seat or I would have perished.  There were
some attractive younger males, but the older crowd
were categorically weird and smiled too much and
carried heavy black bags, probably full of burgeoning
scripts.  Well, I'm trying to get a feel for this
place but it is hard work.  V.
