FULL MOON MUSIC CLUB

Live Dates

@ The COMMPLEX - Thursday 12 Feb 2004 8PM - Review

For those of you who missed the last one on the 12th of February, you should be kicking yourselves! Here's what you could have seen and heard...

Electra sang along to a backing c.d. she had written and recorded herself. She has an incredible voice, reaching operatic notes with ease. For a debut performance, she really impressed the audience.

Rosie Bell, the keyboard player/backing vocalist for FRAK often plays a solo set down at the club. She went down particularly well this night, even roping host/M.C. Fritz (yeah, me) into singing a couple of songs.

Glasgow band Gum have been getting some good press recently, following the release of their debut album. Their ecletic brand of esoteric indie rock came across like Siouxsie & The Banshees meet The Cocteau Twins. Lead singer Leigh Myles has a good voice, and the rest of Gum complement it perfectly.

Surprise of the night came in the shape of Galashiels band Crevis Inspection. With a name like that, everyone was expecting loud blaring punk rock. What we got was an excellent blast of rock, bordering on metal. Their cover of "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter" had half the club arguing over who did the original. Iron Maiden, for anyone that hasn't found out yet! Several other covers were mixed in with some down'n'dirty rock originals, played with confidence and style. We'll be hearing more from these boys, I'm sure.

Don't miss the next one; as there is such a full bill, it might be best to get there as soon after 8p.m. as possible, we will have to start earlier than usual just to fit everyone in!

See y'all down there,

Cheers,

Fritz
